everything you always wanted to know about how we celebrate christmas.

1. Egg Nog or Hot Chocolate? Hot chocolate, I gave eggnog a try...it's definitely an eggNOT.

2. Does Santa wrap presents or just sit them under the tree? We don't do Santa...and most likely won't when we have kids.

3. Colored lights on tree/house or white? WHITE!!! This is a HUGE ongoing debate in our house.  Seriously, there have been hours of argument and debate.  Adam grew up with colored lights, I grew up with white.  I think the colored lights are tacky looking and white lights are classy.  He thinks white is boring.  Our compromise?  White on one tree, colored on the other.  Yes we get TWO trees...because we also have to settle the live vs. fake tree debate.

4. Do you hang mistletoe? No.

5. When do you put your decorations up? A few days after Thanksgiving, this year it was the Sunday after.

6. What is your favorite holiday dish? Stuffing.  I cannot get enough.

7. Favorite Holiday memory as a child? Well, as a child...my little sister and I putting on a play at 5am for our parents with a blue/yellow blanket trying to convince them that the sun was rising and it was time to open presents!  Also, sitting at the top of the stairs, the anticipation just building.  As an adult, those magical Christmas Eves spent drinking lots of beer well into the night and wrapping presents with my brother.

8. When and how did you learn the truth about Santa? I'm pretty sure I was in 1st grade.

9. Do you open a gift on Christmas Eve? No, although we are allowed to open Christmas pajama presents on Christmas Eve.

10. How do you decorate your Christmas tree? WHITE lights, red/gold ornament balls, lots and lots of Nutcracker ornaments (I LOVE THEM), Adam's pooh bear ornament, and some other small ones we've gathered.  I used to put ribbon on the tree, but I left it off this year and I kind of like it.

11. Snow! Love it or Dread it? LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!  Today is the first day it's snowing here, so magical!

12. Can you ice skate? Ice skate?  Yes.  Stop?  No.

13. Do you remember your favorite gift? My kitchenaid mixer.

14. What’s the most important thing about the Holidays for you? Family. Teaching our kids what Christmas is really about.

15. What is your favorite Holiday Dessert? Yes please.  I love them all.  Especially chocolate crinkles.

16. What is your favorite holiday tradition? The candlelight Christmas Eve service.  Everyone gathering around the family room fireplace before we go to bed.

17. What tops your tree? Star.

18. Which do you prefer giving or receiving? Giving...I honestly get so excited!!!! Opening presents is fun, but I like watching people open theirs.

19. Candy Canes: Yuck or Yum? Yum!!!  Expecially when dipped in chocolate!
